Why did he get another girlfriend and over look me?

I met this guy last march, me and him start talking I wasn't that in to him at first but i really began to like him he has a good job own place no kids he is only 23 anyway we began dating. on the 4th of july i seen him in the club hugged up with some other girl i go on fb the next day cme to find out it was his gf he had been leading me on telling me i was going to be his girl for almost 5 months so he begged me not to leave him and i was so caught up in love i stayed in nov i seen her once again in the club and told her about us and he denied it and told her he had with me 1 time in march and i been chasing him every since after that me and him hadn't talked since until he wrote me on fb last month telling me he was sorry and that he was ready and in my heart i still loved him hadn't been with anyone since him and im not ugly at all so we been talking but I noticed all he begged for was well two days ago I received a text that said I love you baby im on my way to work well he sent after I never heard anything from him so today I asked him if you love me why haven't you called he said because that text wasn't to you I have a girlfriend my heart dropped into my stomach im lost
