Questions about money received from a estate?

Basically a close family member ped away last year and the solicitors have been dealing with the estate. Long story short i received a letter a couple of weeks ago basically stating probate had been granted, everything was sorted the solicitor was just tieing up loose ends.. collecting the money in the estate from the bank accounts and would take his cut owed and distribute the money to me. I am just curious if anyone else has been through this if they know how long this takes. There is no rush and its not a lot of money of anything its just all been very stressful and would be glad to see it over with. If anyone has any experience with the sort of time scale would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
